Problem Flasching Sl-c1000
« on: November 04, 2005, 03:52:08 pm »
Hi,

I have a new SL-C1000 with a 1Gb SD Card. I have prepare the SD Card as descriped under http://openzaurus.org/wordpress/installation/sl-c1000/. I can select updating and I can also select  SD Card as install source.

But after choosing the Card I get a window with japan writing and an OK button. So I think the files or the Card was not find or some thing like this. But I don't speek  japanese

My main question are:

- which filesystem do I need on my SD Card? ext2, fat16, ...
- which permission do I need for the files

I have testet with vfat and ext2. Also I have checked the md5sum. Nothing works.

Any idea what I can check else?

Thanks,
Bepp

Thanks for you quick reply.  No didn't plugged in the power supply. :-(
I guess the SD Card is not seen by the system. If I choose CF which is not avaiable I get the same messages. Also if there no SD Card at all plugged in.

Did someone have any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Bepp

Maybe you do have a problem with your SD-Card.
To flash OZ you can really follow the instructions. I succeeded today.

-Did you rename the files (updater.sh,zImage.bin,initrd.bin)?
-Do you see the SD-card in the diag-mode?
-When inserting the power plug does the charging LED blink or does is burn constantly?

Greets

Marc

P.S.: Forget 3.5.3, flash with 3.5.4RC. It rocks. But before flashing backup your ROM. Then the way back to your current programs is only 10 minutes to go.

IIRC, the first time I tried to flash I had a CF wireless card inserted and a properly formatted SD card.  With the CF wireless in, it wouldn't detect files on any card and gave me some Japanese writing and an OK button.  As soon as I pulled the CF wireless and rebooted everything was good.  Good luck!
