Hentges / Konqueror Sigsegv Woes
« on: November 07, 2005, 03:36:32 pm »
Hi.

Got a Collie here running Henges Rom 3.5.3

I can browse lots of sites including complex sites but for some reason whenever I go to Google (one of the few sites you would not think to have problems with) I get a pityful yelp and konq dies with a SIGSEGV message

It happens on a couple of other sites but Google is the one I always remember

I have turned Javascript off et al but still can't get it working   Any thoughts anyone?

It is a 64-0 kernel so I don't think it is a memory issue,  but again thoughts?

It is a tad embarrasing that I have a fantastic tool that I can remotely fix my servers from the pub (why I bought it  ) with but can't nip onto Google when I am bored in meetings

I have this issue with most sites, including digg.com and many others. Its enough of my normally-travelled sites that I installed opera...Though I would rather have the additional controls that Konq provides.

I have now discovered a couple of wierd things,  a work around for google is to use thier  wap site http://wap.google.com which seems to work fine,   I have also discovered that gmail works fine even though the main search page doesn't

I think I will have a go with Opera

You're not using liquid as a style or are you?

Ah,  yes I am.

I can't access the net from here on the PDA but I will change it and see if it fixes it this evening.    Weird,   does it just take up too much power with all the eyecandy then?

Edit:

Ah I was using a liquid style with polished windows

Hi, I got the same issue. Some site works, others not. Same error message with sigsegv. I used liquid as apparence n switch over to others but I still get the same error message.
On other threads, there's posting about changing cache size for opera n replacing opera.ini file. Is there a workaround for konqueror?
Thanks

Since I got rid of the liquid style and appearance Konquerer has been rock solid here.

I am using web stlye and polished appearance here and everything is fine and it looks good too
