Battery, Charging Problem...please Help
« on: November 11, 2005, 11:50:47 am »
Today, while i'm watch e-books using my zaurus C1k, its screen goes off suddenly.
I think maybe its battery has been ran out, so i plugged the AC adapter in, and pressed the on/off button.
The screen lighted again, but I saw the battery light was dark and the icon of the battery didn't blink to tell me it's charging.
I think maybe something wrong with the OS, so i try to reboot the machine. And it failed to boot (without AC adapter). The screen goes off again.
And from then on, I cannot boot my poor zaurus:(

It seemed the problem is I cannot charge the battery. I can enter Service Mode (D+M Mode), but I don't know what to do. I tried reflash the nand flash, it's finished without a error, but it didn't worked.

If anybody knows how to solve this problem, would you please tell me?

Thanks for watching this post.

P.S. I used Trisoft rom and special kernel v18a.

Anyone could help?

Now i used a SHARP CE-BC21 to recharge the battery, with this fully charged battery i can boot my zaurus. But, as I plugged the AC/DC adapter, the zaurus didn't treat it as plugged. The recharge light is still dead and the "battery" program wrote "External Power Disconnected"

Are you using Sharp's power adaptor ? There are known problems with cheap power adaptors that could damage the charging circuits of the Z.. Search around on the forum, I've seen many posts about it.

do this.  unplug the battery, hit reset, plug in battery, close the switch and plug in power.

a light should come on.  post if you see the light.

also, you can leave the pda unused for a day or so with battery out after hitting reset.  come back again and then check it out.

this is no regular procedure but i have fixed my z's in this fashion.  The waiting is the worst part.
