Did you look at hentges? it is OZ, but I think without some of the pain for new users. Made, I believe, for the 5500.

also, look for way to flash back to the original rom to make sure all is well before proceeding. Probably not neceaasry, and all flashing is  hazardous, but it might give you some piece of mind.

I'm sure hrw or lardman will be along shortly....

Sounds like the kernel did not flash correctly,

Check the md5sum of the zImage file.

Yeah, I will do that, but I cannot connect to my zaurus anymore, so how do I put new files onto the CF again???

Thanks

1) There is a reset, but it resets to the default ROM. So that won't work.

To explain what hrw meant:
eject the SD/CF card, copy a NAND backup on the card and then reboot to diagnosis mode. With that you will get the default sharp ROM.

or copy the OZ files once again to a card and flash from the card. BUT
before flashing verify that EVERY bit is correct by comparing the md5sums.

2) Here on the C1000 the RC 3.5.4 is working. Pretty cool.

Marc

P.S.: Did you copy / rename the files correctly? Maybe there might also have been a misunderstanding...

Hey, oh I did copy the files with the changed name and did the procedure exactly, but however I didnt check the m5sums.

For the default sharp rom, where can i find the NAND files, and how do i go to the diagnosis  mode as u can see i am still a newbie at this.

You know whats weird is that my friend has this printer that accepts CF, it reads the card but I cant write to it, it gives me the error where the CF has write protection, I guess you cant write to the CF thru the printer, I hope the card reader I am gonna get will make me write on the CF.

Thanks man
