Help Newbie And Hentges Rom

Hello:
I’m a new sl5500 user and a Linux newbie.  I’ve installed Hentges ROM on the sl5500 and I’m having some problems.

When I try to install any ipk file I receive a “Packages was terminated due to a signal code SIGSEGV

I receive the following error on these apps.
Could not locate application
E-mail, Opieftp, tinykate

And the follow apps will not launch, no error just will not launch
Gaim, XMMS, Web Browser, Aliens, BillardZ, PrBoom

Other than that I love Hentges ROM

I have the 64-0 image and I’m using a Toshiba 1GB SD card formatted with ext2.

I’m sure that it is something simple that I’ve missed, any help is greatly appreciated.

It sounds like your linking failed for some reason?

So in terminal do:

ipkg-link mount /media/card

Then use the reload icons or restart opie.

Great!!! Looks like that did it.  I bought the zaurus this year, kind of a steep learing curve, but worth it,  finding out it's more of a small couputer not a pda.


Opps Talked too soon,  now eveything is working except installing new ipk's

I'm going to guess that it has something to do with your ipkg.conf file and the feeds location being changed... see this thread:

Working on updateing the Packages list, but the ipk's I was installing was on a local compactflash card?

Are you using the liquid style / theme?  That used to make Konquerer bomb out on me all the time.
