Cacko Rom
« on: December 15, 2005, 12:28:50 pm »
I got my C1000 on monday and was uncertain to move over to the Cacko ROM or not, but several people here did say it would be a good thing to do.

Last night I tool the plunge and you are sooo right. Now looking at it why would I have thought that staying with the Sharp ROM was acceptable.

The one thing I had a problem with was doing the NAND backup. There is not a lot of documentation on how to do it. My problem is that the system checks to see if there is enough space on the CF (or sd/mmc) card - but no where was there any information on HOW MUCH space it needed. My NAND backup is about 100M and my CF card was 75M, so I had to buy a bigger card (1G) and then it went ok.

Expanding the ROM and then flashing it was rather painless, though fraught with fear of ending up with a brick.

AGAIN, thanks all for your indirect help.
