Av 700 File Renaming
« on: December 28, 2005, 11:37:19 pm »
Hi,

I have just bought the AV700 - it is awesome.  However, the manual and Archos helpdesk are totally useless.  I want to rename my video files. I know it can be done on the Archos itself but this is tedious. Is there a way to rename files using my PC (operating with XP) with the Archos connected vis USB or by copying files to my PC, renaming it and then transfering it back?

Advise will be greatly appreciated.

Sam

Yes you can, access the video files by clicking "my computer" then "AV700" then "Video" on the PC. Find the video you want to rename and rt click "rename"

Thanks - tried that earlier and again now but it does not work. The files are there but are protected.

Once connected try right-click->properties. Make sure read-only box is NOT checked

On main screen of your Archos:

select : Display set up screen--> System --> Usb Port --> Hard drive

Then Plug your UBB cable to  PC --> Now your PC look at your Archos like a Harddisk, u can do whatever you want
