« on: January 04, 2006, 04:09:43 am »
I've got an sl-c3100 and I've seen that on the support site theres updates but theres no english translation available for the page some I'm unsure if I need the updates and if I do how to install them! Is there anyone out there whos already done it, and if so are the steps documented anywhere?

I've been contemplating that but Its taken me a while to get the PDA setup the way I want it . Guess it'd be wise to do it as I hear good things about cacko.

I really need to know the definative way to backup and restore my device so should cacko not be for me I can get my device back into the state it was before.

Im really unsure on how to do a backup and what procedures to follow.

is there any articles etc on it i can read?

do a NAND backup from the service menu. that will get you a complete backup (except the microdrive which is too big and takes too long) and if you want to get back to where you were before, a Nand restore will do the trick. Cacko will wipe your entire Nand when you install it, but it leaves your microdrive alone.
