but it is only for 2.6 kernels.

I am afraid I am not up to speed on OpenEmbedded, can you provide a "Readers Digest"
summary of what it is all about and who might be qualified to test it?

I have a SL-5500 with what appears to be a defective CF slot and a fully functional
C1000.  Are either of them suitable test platforms?

OpenEmbedded is buildsystem used to build OpenZaurus, Familiar and few other Linux distibutions (not only for PDA). So when something is added into it then all distros can use it. We have drivers for other CF 802.11g cards and getting this one to build is possible.

But getting it build is one thing, get it tested is other thing.

I just tried to build it and discovered that it firstly need to port to ARM as now it's i386/x64_64 only  So sorry - nothing to test.

Perhaps you could sell the driver?

Or those who want it could make donations toward your time and talent?

Is there another equally low priced "g" card that already works or for which you
are developing a driver, please?

I will try to port the driver over the weekend! The card would really rock! Worth the effort....

The press release says that it is Linux compatible. I'm assuming that includes the zaurus. I have their bluetooth card and it works great.

Globolus, there's renewed interest in the Ambicom WL54-CF.  Did you ever get a chance to work with the driver?
