Newbie Hardware questions
« on: February 15, 2004, 06:24:43 pm »
I should be getting my 5600 this week, hopefully it will have the 255 proc!
I was wondering if people could recommend a good sd mem card and cf wi-fi. I primarily wants to out of the box sync with outlook on xp and then connect wirelessly to my xp box to e-mail and e-bay.

Thanks, this seems like a great place to find a wealth of information.

I have a Linksys WCF12 wi-fi card. It worked right out of the box on my 5500 (running OZ 3.2)
One thing I\'ve done is by-pass the default (debian-based) network scripts and am using the system PCMCIA network scripts (via cardctl) so I can switch network settings and access points more easily. Everything works great except sometimes the WEP key doesn\'t take and I have to manually set it. I\'m still hunting down the cause if this.

Overall the card is great!

Hope that helps
