Usb Cables?
« on: February 19, 2006, 11:46:08 pm »
Hello again, new SL-C1000 user here.    I don't have any of the USB cables for it.  It seems to be that there is a funky USB port and a port for the sync cable.  Where can I find these?  What are the model compatabilities?
Thanks!

legodude, look here:
http://www.streamlinecpus.com/store/
it's the last item at the bottom of the list, is USB "Host" cable.

For a "regular" USB cable, (like the one you use to sync with) I'm using the one that came with my Palm Zire 72.
The USB port on the back accepts both kind of cables. The "Host" cable is wired differently than a "Sync" cable. The Zaurus "knows" which cable is inserted. If you look at it when you get one, you can see the difference in the connector

In the pic the "A" connector is on the right, (It's the host connector)
The regular one like the one you get with a Zire 72 is on the left. "B" connector.

I got a USB cable kit from Walgreens (cursed national chain) that had the adapters that I needed, specifically a usb host adapter.  Works fine when I hook up an external hard drive.

That's a GoldX cable kit (with 5 adapters)
I googled for GoldX and this is my result.
http://www.google.com/search?q=GoldX&sourc...:en-US:official
You may have to purchase from an online store.

Or you could try Trisoft, they have the "host cable"
