« on: March 05, 2006, 09:55:32 pm »
I just wanna try pdaxrom for x86 in vMware, in order to see if i can use it when i buy a z-1000. But the pdax86 always ask me to enter login, so that i can't enter into the GUI interface. Can anyone tell me what should i enter for the login. I'm a newbie to linux world.

Try the username root with no password. (that's what it is for the Zaurus pdaXrom)
Then type 'startx' after logging in to start X Windows.

Yes, the "root" and "startx" worked. Pdaxrom is awesome. But i don't know if the Z version of it is similar to this x86 version.
Thank you

e. But i don't know if the Z version of it is similar to this x86 version.
Thank you tongue.gif

it's very similar, but:
- it uses by default another wm, though icewm is easy to install on the zaurus
- it comes with less software preinstalled (x86 comes with all the softwares from the official feeds preinstalled)
- depending on your pc, it slower on the zaurus

Thank you. I did find that the x86 had enoguh software. But those softwares can be installed on the Z version, right?
