it seems to me your best bet is to see if the a 3100 can be had cheap as a result of the 3200 release.

If that isn't possible, the 3200 would be it, then.

Howevwer, if you have time and can persuade someone to do the hacks, you could get a 1000, have bt or wireless (or both )  connected internally and use an external cf microdrive.
The last setup would be very cool, but it is probably unlikely to get done.
**3100 Zubuntu Jaunty,(working on Cacko dualboot), 16G A-Data internal CF, 4G SD, Ambicom WL-1100C Cf, linksys usb ethernet,  BelkinF8T020 BT card, Belkin F8U1500-E Ir kbd, mini targus usb mouse, rechargeble AC/DC powered USB hub, psp cables and battery extenders.

**6000l  Tetsuized Sharprom, installed on internal flash only 1G sd, 2G cf

I'm a new guy here and wanted to know if you guys think I should get the SL-C3200 when it comes out or stick with the more known SL-C3100 or SL-C1000. I'm thinking of making this may laptop replacement for college. I will also bring my PC to college which I'd keep in my dorm room. You think this is a great strategy?

The SL-C860 was to the SL-C760 what the SL-C3200 is to the SL-C3100. In a few months, we will certainly see a bigger move from Sharp.

Btw, those Sharp device are great to play with. It's better to select the last one if money is not an issue for you.

Hi,

Well, I really hope that amrein is right, fllowing "the logic" Sharp must release a "real release" in June.

If you remember the last year, we got (well japanese got, we just import jiji) the C1000 on March and the 3100 was on June. After all this time, seems like Sharp was bussy with something, may be playing Rubik's or may be developing a new baby

Regards.

I'm wondering if the W-Zero3 is a precursor to the Zaurus form factor changing.  Would you be interested in a non-clamshell Zaurus where the screen slides up like the W-Zero3 or OQO?

I wouldn't mind this form factor a bit and it would allow Sharp to use a larger screen without changing the current footprint size of the Zaurus (no hinge).

Interesting thought. I don't think I would mind too much. Larger screen would be a trade off that I would be OK with.

I would mind! Such a form factor doesn't allow to adjust the angle between keyboard and screen, so how to type on that device if it sits on the table? You would have to bend over it a lot to read the screen, didn't you?

I fin'd it already anoying that the C3000's screen snaps back into a wide angle by itself if you try to adjust the angle near that locking one (which I want to do usually).
