3.5.4.1: Faulty Hardware Or Driver Error?
« on: March 27, 2006, 06:52:10 pm »
Odd, very odd. Buf after a full afternoon and night trying to make my new symbol spectrum24 wifi card, i discovered it doesn't work with my ap (USR8054) if i use pair channels (2,4,6,8, etc...)!!

Code: [Select]
$ iwlist scanning

doesn't return any network on pair channels. And I can't associate with network on pair channels.

I thought it could be faulty hardware, because experienced same odd behaviour using Cacko1.23 on my c760 (only tried channel 2 though), but then I tried wellenreiter, and it began detecting my network on channel 2, and other vicinity networks on pair channels.

Any idea?

Is the card faulty? Or just the driver? Any of you experienced something similar?

thanks

I have installed Cacko again to check, and I'm having the same problems. Maybe it's a driver problem, or just a compatibility problem with the card and my AP.

I wen to University today and could connect without problems to the free AP on channel 6.

It works fine here on all channels as well - with a SMC AP.

I'm going to check again today with OZ, because with Cacko's Rom it doesn't detect (with wellenreiter) newtorks on channels different than 11-13.(came from uni to home with wellenreiter on)
