The flash went well.  SD cardfs worked like charm too.  Thanks for the fix!

I am still unable to extract the initrd.bin from the .gz file.  What commands did you use to uncompress the file? What did the uncompressed file produce. Gunzip still produces a 157 MB file - this does not seem to be correct.

Sorry to repeat the same questions - but the problem remains.

Thanks - Dan

And I have already told you _3_ times why that is, that you have the wrong file from the wrong directory, a directoy which header text points to a FAQ explaining what that file is you have.

I have even written a lengthy response explaining _exactly_ which files are needed for flashing, including the directory where you find them.

I'm deeply sorry but I can not make myself any clearer.

Thanks for that comment- that was the exact pointer that was needed.

The replies never actually said I had the wrong file - the comments were more about how to use the file I had - that was the confusing point for -3- tries.

Thanks - Dan

So when will the final release of 3.5.4.1 be issued?  Sorry if this seems like an uneducated question.

This seems to be working great so far on my 5500, thanks!

Although I can't seem to get it to recognise my socket bluetooth CF card (rev f). 3.5.3 hentges rom recognised it, though I never managed to set it up. Comes up as 'unsupported card'.

Is that a missing driver problem?

Hi

Many thanks Coredump for the great release.

The install of the revised collie version of opie worked fine, but I have found a small problem.

I cannot start a usb network connection.

ifconfig reveals that irda1 and loopback are configured but usb0 is not configured. I ran the network configuration tool and changed the setting to my normal setting and then tried to start the device and I get the error message "Starting interface failed".

I am also unable to stop the interfaces that are started.

I would appreciate some help.

Just got round to installing this one and was looking forward to it but now I can't install packages or access interweb through usb.

Settings are

IP 192.168.0.100
subnet 255.255.255.0
First DNS 192.168.1.1
Second DNS 192.168.1.100

These settings have always worked for me in the past and reflashing to previous Hentges RC still works on these settings still works today.

No problems flashing but interweb so therefore packages won't connect.
I want to be current and stay with current RC so any suggestions/hints/rtfm's gratefully recieved.

have installed zImage collie 64/0 correctly renamed, initrd.bin and cardfs - error message from ipkg in Konsole is Host name look up failure.

Thanks as always for the help.

Make sure you've got the needed modules loaded. Should at least have usbdcore loaded.

Have you got your routing sorted out correctly? and your gateway specified correctly.

Also, be sure to make sure the machine you're connecting the zarus to by usb has connection sharing etc set up.

Yes please.

Kellyharding.

Routing/Sharing is all ok with my xp box and everything worked perfectly on previous RC from January.

Installed kernel module usbdcore is the same as the one in the 3.5.4 feed.

Thanks for the advice though.
