You guys need a chill pill.

Maybe you should better talk about how to make it into non-ugly hack and maybe work together on 2.6 kernel.

I don't understand all this whole pdaXrom <> OZ animosity

Now get back to work and compile me some kernel!

How OZ people hate me / pdaXrom - get the facts:

They calls my patches ugly unprofessional hacks etc.. Than RP adds untested and with more ugly stuff   (based on the same intel patch) inside, and that is cool - now OZ have cool nice professional path ( http://www.rpsys.net/openzaurus/patches/px...verlay-r0.patch ) !

Damn kids, grow up.
Instead of quarelling, work on the kernel together. Both OZ and pdaXrom would only benefit from it.
Can't we just get along?

Sash, Hrw, all developers,

we all know you are basically working with NO profit and we thank you, BUT...

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME -> don't reinvent the wheel!

Sashz, you are a very skilled guy, why the heck are you loosing your time on a 2.6 kernel? There is already a "working" one needing some of your "hacks".

You'd better help RPurdie and the others patching the kernel and developing/debugging...

C'mon guys, join the forces and show us what you are able to do.
I'm confident someone (Sharp or other big Co.) would be very interested to hire a TEAM and not some hysteric programmers.

Thank you again for your work, but hurry up NOW!

Just my 2 (euro)cents...

Ant

P.S. IMHO openzaurus-gpe is moving in the right direction and could be the definitive distro when finished.

Sorry about instigating anything on either side of this argument.
Hope the best for both distro's. I've booted both up and they both have advantages.

Thanks RP for giving the pxa overlay patch a go. I'll try it out when I get a chance, and once I figure out how to get it compiled in. If it ever makes it into  a build of OZ, I'll get my software to support it, but it seems like there's no plan for that.

Any other user's besides danboid and I interested in having OZ support RP/Sashz patch for intel's overlay patch? It should speed up software such as my psx emulator, mplayer, and SDL apps (just a compile of a certain 1.2.9 version that supports it) considerably.

It makes little sense not to take someones offering of help. Even if it's not up to someones standards, it could be worked on further so it can be at that level of quality, right?

Thanks for the support! I can hardly wait to get back into Zaurus development again. :)

So now the that everythings resolved anyone care to give me a rundown of where we stand with the pxa buffer, before and after patch as well as comparison to 2.4 bvdd, i think i have finally found enough info to work out that bvdd is an overlay acsess mechanism

that got me thinking if we can do the overlay then could we use the YUV to RGB hardware conversion for a speedup in mplayer and is this what bvdd does?
