Hello fellow zaurus users!
This is my first post, so allow me to briefly introduce myself. I'm a php/mysql developer, and have had a lot of linux experience, so that's what attracted me to the zaurus. I've had my eye on it for several years now, but finally got one after I could convince my wife that I needed a new toy for my birthday
I just got it last week, but I've had some ups and downs.
First I converted to english, and my generic CF wireless card worked great. But there were still Japanese menus in places that annoyed me, so I installed the Cacko ROM.
I liked it, but I couldn't get my CF card to work after trying everything I could think of.
Then I installed pdaXrom, and that looked cool and my wireless card worked again, but it lacked the PDA feel and responsiveness.
So I decided to go back to the original Sharp ROM and installed the NAND from trisoft on Friday. Now my wireless card works great again, and since then I've been tinkering with everything, installing all sorts of apps and just absolutely loving my new Z!
But I have two remaining issues...
1. I have a Sony Digital camera, and when I plug it into my USB hub, I can't get my Zaurus to mount properly and read the files. I have tried installing Automounter and following the instructions to the letter, but still can't get it. I also have an RCA Lyra mp3 player, and it won't connect either. Both devices connect just fine to windows via USB. I've searched through the forum and Google as much as I can, but haven't found any answers. Am I missing something really obvious here?
2. I purchased a Fellowes Stowaway USB folding keyboard, and on all the other ROMs I tried except the trisoft one, all the QWERTY keys worked, but some of the punctuation was off. But now with the trisoft NAND I've got installed, all of the keys are totally wacked out. For example, the top row should be QWERTY, but it is something like PQRSTUV, etc..., with the letters in order like that.
The keyboard works perfectly when I plug it into my Laptop with XP on it.
I tried fiddling with keyhelper and following some tutorials, setting up the keyhelper.xml file, but nothing seems to work. Every once in a while, I see "error in Keyhelper.conf" show up briefly at the bottom in the task bar. But I havent edited it, and the contents of the file are:
[Global]
[Launch]
Does anyone have a Fellowes Stowaway keyboard and have a working keyhelper.xml file to share?
Thanks!
