Of course I've read Meanie's site, but it doesn't make any sense if you aren't familiar w/ linux. I am in the process of getting to know linux, but I'm not there yet. I wish there was a "type this, do this, type this" step by step method. I wonder why someone hasn't made a backup image that already includes X/QT ? I don't know what a cramfs image is. Could someone explain that?
It sounds simple to list -
Cacko 1.23
X/QT
FireFox (to do websites that opera / netfront won't)
Gaim (QPE-Gaim has been giving me trouble)
XPDF (to read pdf problem sets. qpdf2 doesn't list equations properly)
AbiWord (nice for typing things up)
Scite (the pdaxrom text editor?) (to do any programming/scripting)
Nothing too demanding.
I have a 1 GB SD card and a 32 mb CF card. I can use a 256 mb CF card for installing stuff, but it won't be there permanently (digital camera).
As long as I can get sharps player to handle mp3 and aac, I don't think i'll need Xmms.
Thanks,
Louis
