No Squashfs So Far?
« on: May 19, 2006, 04:07:38 pm »
Hi there:

In this thread Hrw says
Quote
After 3.5.2 release I will work on getting squashfs
I can't seem to mount a Squashfs volume.

Does that mean no squashfs so far?

For a 2.6 OZ can it be used as a kernel module? Or no way to mount squashfs filesystems?

I can add squashfs for 2.6 kernels but rather not for 2.4 ones.

That'd be great. Are you planning on doing it?

I will add FUSE and SquashFS into 2.6 kernel (as modules).

I can provide squashfs modules for 2.4.18 machines too - but someone has to check them before I will release it to public. Any volonteers?

Note that fuse is broken on arm cpus according to the author. It will be fixed in the 2.6.0 release.

Can I ask about the timeline you have planned for this?

http://ewi546.ewi.utwente.nl/tmp/hrw/3.5.4...tal/2.6.16-r33/ contain directory for akita/c7x0/poodle/spitz/tosa. Each subdir contain kernel 2.6.16-r33 with archive of all modules. SquashFS module is extracted.

Try to load module under OZ 3.5.4.1-rc. If it works then test it. If it does not load then boot kernel from dir (kexec-tools could be usefull).

Give info does it works.

Downloaded the module. Am currently testing it on SL-C3200 OZ 3.5.4.1-rc2. So far works fine, but will do some doc reading today etc and report tomorrow on whether there's any problems.

Thanks a lot.
