Excuse me for this question, but was a lot of time that i don' t see this forum and i don't know wich updates are now.

My Zaurus is an SL-5500 with OZ 3.5.3 and kernel 2.4.x (ROM Henteges).

The OZ 3.5.4 is released, but what' s the update ? The kernel is new also fo my 5500 ? There's an Henteges ROM with OZ 3.5.4 and kernel 2.6.x ?

Kernel 2.6 is still not ready for Collie. It's a tough job. We're working on it, but I'm afraid if at all, it won't be available any time soon.

Which is ironic since even Poodle (our black sheep) is almost ready for 2.6

Coredump: who more then you know how bad collie is....

USB gadget on collie should be now possible - one step into 2.6 working less..

Well, I've seen the horrors of Poodle and with that in mind Collie doesn't look soo bad

Gee ... so oz/gpe hentges rom 3.5.4.1 is not running 2.6 kernel? And I thought it was on 2.6 all these while? bum

Only on Poodle and Akita, Collie still uses 2.4

And by the way, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the OZ folks again for a lot of really thankless work on a really difficult project and yet still turning out great stuff. That OZ even works somewhat is amazing; that it's as good as it is is really pretty phenomenal.

Don't get me wrong, I'm hungering after a final 3.5.4 release for Akita as well, but I know how burned-out many of you must be feeling--we really do appreciate it!

Yes, I extend my thanks also. I've been OS hopping for the last few days on
my 5500, and just installed OZ 3.5.4 to give it a try. I am using the GPE version,
and it has been very stable so far. John

I have an SD in EXT2, which package i must take ?

AFAIK,

Rename as
opie-image-3.5.4-collie.initrd.bin -> initrd.bin
zImage-64-0 -> zImage

the ext2 files are for looping and booting off sd or CF. If you are installing into flash, you only need initrd.bin and zImage.

Of cos for Hentges rom, there is the cardfs files which you will need (do not rename the cardfs files) for installing the baseline of apps which is really useful.
