Hostap.conf Gone After Upgrade
« on: June 15, 2006, 11:27:05 am »
Everything was going prety good with opie 3.4.3 with altboot setup on my sd card. Then
in trying to get wpa working I ipkg upgraded and hostap_cs.conf is gone    my wifi card now says "unsupported card" when inserted. I tryed copying the hostap_cs.config from the un-upgraded opie install on rom thatr didnt work card reconized but no network connection just forever searching and iwconfig then seg-faults. Also tryed the setings under config --> bind to, they didint work eather, card stayed asleep. Forcing a reinstall of hostap_config returns "nothing to be done"

My card is a AmbiCom WL1100C

How do I get a working and upgraded hostap back?

Thanks

Thats what got me confused package manager shows it as installed hostap-conf, but there the file itsself is gone from //etc/pcmcia. It starts out there with a clean install and dissapares when I ipkg uprgade. I am runing opie 3.5.4 not 3.4.3 typo in 1st post.

Tryed to uninstall then reinstall hostap-config ipkg segfualts on uninstall.

Hostap.conf Gone After Upgrade

Well I made a little progress in solving the puzzle. I un-installed hostap-config, hostap-modules, and ornoco-modules, removed WIFI cafd rebooted, reinstalled hostap-config and hostap-modules. Now I am half way back my Z sees the card and knows what it is but doesnt actavate it, it says its actave but no green light on card and no WIFI is shown in networking.

Quick temporay fix, using altboot to have a un-upgraded version to run when I need to use wifi.

Thanks
