Need Help With Resetting Dialup Modem Gui
« on: June 19, 2006, 02:54:09 pm »
I sometimes find that the dialup modem GUI on my sl5500 ROM2.38 reflects wrong information when I am offline and I want to reset or correct it.

Sometimes even killing the pppd and chat processes does not correct the GUI display which often says 'Abort' and 'Connecting' when that isn't happening.

What other process or program controls the GUI's status display?

How do I reset it from command line?  I am working a script as sometimes tapping on the GUI at this point
totally freezes up my keys and screen and I get stuck rebooting.

I am not very experienced in this sort of thing, so reading the ppp and chat manual pages, and the ldp PPP how-to just isn't getting me very far.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
sdjf
