Kphone Performance/'sticking'
« on: June 22, 2006, 08:59:33 pm »
I am having a frustrating time with kphone on my zaurus sl-c3100

Connected over wifi with wep:  Installed kPhone/pi and set her up.  Everything is good - set up for sipgate.co.uk and use stun server because I am behind a NAT most of the time.

When connecting kphone freezes for a very long time, eventually I get a password box and log in...  Once in kphone freezes frequently before coming back to life...

So it kind of works, I just tested making a inbound call to it and it seemed to work well... Just tried to make an outbound call and my kphone is stuck for quite a while then a dialogue pops up but I dont hear audio for the call - neither can I interact with the kphone software - its locked (still).

In calls that I actually spoke to someone in my zaurus kphone seems to freeze from input frequently and the other person cant hear me, and I cant talk then itll be alive for a few mins and then itll go again, gets irritating.

Is there anything I can do to try and resolve these issues?  VOIP calls will save me a boat load if I can make it work before I go away next weekend...

Edit:

Just to summarise the kphone 'issues'

Start kphone, select the sipgate profile, short progress bar then a lengthy freeze of kphone.

After a little wait I see user/pass box, I enter my details and hit OK, kphone freezes for as long as it took me to type this so far...

Inbound calls seem to work fine.

Trying to make an outbound call:  File: new call - new box appears.  Type number and hit the call button: kphone makes a crackle in the headset freezes out for a pretty long time - I hear no 'you do not have enough credit *blah blah* message like I should eventually the box dissapears.

Did you use the phone from the cacko feed or from the pi website?

I'm using the one from http://www.pi-sync.net/html/kp_pi.html
and that seems to make calls as well as recieve, without freezing, but I was making local calls, with no STUN stuff.

I have c1000 with cacko 1.23

Thanks,
Tim
