I cant seem to get kismet to function on my c1000. Ive followed the instructions posted by cresho. from a previous post (Kismet on sharp rom). I edited the kismet.conf file so that the source is a prism2 card ( I have the planex card which I think is prism3 but I dont know whether that has to be indicated in the conf file) and set up the netwrk configuration as instructed but I cant get past "unable to connect to server". can anyone set me straight. many thanks michael miller

Hi !

I have the same set-up (C1000 + cacko 1.23 + prism card (sandisk connect+)), and I use kismet_2005-08-R1-2_arm.ipk (from http://web.mol.ru/~zaurus/feed/ ) without any problems. I didn't even have to modify kismet conf files.
So maybe your problem is somewhere else ? Does iwlist scan work ?

Re Wellenreiter-I spoke too soon! In spite of checking work in root (and the little eye appears on the bottom of the toolbar- -I get a message saying Im logged on as non root - do I want to proceed etc. Tried reinstalling it but it makes no difference.

Re Kismet- iwlist scan doesn't work

If you have a prism3 card, check that the firmware is uploaded.
Can you post the output of iwconfig ?
