I have had my archos for about 2 months now and it has worked fine until now.  Well i just got back from vacation for a week and now it now longer connects to my computer.  I have it set on hard drive.  I used to just go to My Computer and then the AV500 would be an option.   It does not show up there any more.

My computer does recognize its attached though.  When I click on safely remove the device the Archos AV500 is an option.

Someone please help me, I can't download anything until i get this fixed.

I've just had the same problem!!!! You can go into system and change it from hard drive to windows device but its slower. However thats not the point, is there anyone out there who has answers or the same problem or is this going to be a case of fairly good product bloody diabolical support!?

I had a similar problem when I first got my AV700 TV. Windoze simply wouldn't recognise it properly. After several hours I tried a different USB slot (onboard instead of the PCI ones I've installed) & it worked perfectly! Try a different USB port.
