How slow is slow for the Pocketworkstation?

Not incredibly slow. Xbill was playable. Most apps were fine, but stay away from Firefox or Openoffice. It emulates an X layer using a local VNC server, but this allows the screen scaling.
The real issue is with controls; Pocketworkstation on OZ can't do anything with the backlight or the volume. You can run Pocketworkstation on top of Opie, and control everything from there, but it's really impractical without a swap file. If you skip Opie, there's just enough RAM to get by, but if you have Opie in the background, it'll segfault a lot :/
There's probably a way to hack the proper backlight/sound controls into Pocketworkstation, but I'm not 1335 enough to figure it out...
[EDIT] The reason I ever used Pocketworkstation in the first place was because there was a wifi hotspot I needed to use that could only validate me with a full browser like Firefox... it takes a full 90 seconds to start but is responsive once it does, even animated GIFs don't look too shabby. Most apps are usable if you don't mind waiting a few seconds for 'em to load.
