Don't Understand Oz/opie 3.5.4.1

I have installed OZ/Opie 3.5.4.1 and really like it as a whole.  I like the PIM approach with much more.  You guys are awesome for doing all of this.  If I ever get a clue, I wouldn't mind helping out.

Basically, the main things that I want are good PIM software (which I have with it) and GAIM (Yahoo IM), Firefox or Opera, ssh capability, ftp, ability to play mp3s/wmv/avi/mpeg4 aka DIVx, games (mahjongg, yahtzee, suduko, chess, etc..), good text editor, spreadsheet viewer, wardriving software.

I have tried these ROMS: Sharp Qtopia, pdaXrom, OZ/gpe, OZ/opie

So far, I like the OZ/opie best for my needs.

My question is:

How do I update this distribution?   I don't want to have to reinstall it all every time a new version comes out.  

Plus, how do I find all of the programs that I want if I don't see them in the feed?  I am connecting to the ewi feed.

Where can you find ipks for this distro and how can you roll your own from source?

OZ images are updated via "ipkg update ; ipkg upgrade". We have a special "upgrade" feed which provides never packages than the base feed or the flashed image.

However, to upgrade to eg 3.5.4.2 a reflash is required

If they are not in the feed your are out of luck. But since the feed is the largest of _any_ Z distro, that shouldn't happen too often
