Eventually yes

However, I've just switched to a new machine. While trying out recent kernels I got bitten by the infamous 2.6.17 XFS bug which caused massive data-loss and data corruption on my RAID :\

One of the things lost / corrupted was my OE build environment. I'm trying to get it running again but i'll take time.

No, the irreplaceable stuff was backed up of course
However, I lost a good deal of time and my build env still doesn't work right

It's always hard to reconfigure things. It takes ages to tweek things to our liking and then you forget how you did it when you've had it that way for a long time.

I feel your pain, Coredump. I rebuilt my wife's machine a while back and had the same type of corruption from xfs. Had to restore from backups too...After switching back to ReiserFS.

I've lost multiple partitions to bugs in ReiserFS (100% data-loss) so I try to avoid it at all cost.

XFS OTOH has been very stable in the past, the darned 2.6.17 bug beeing the exception.

My build env is up and running again    The only thing still not compiling is gnumeric but you can always get that from the feeds.

I'll upload 3.5.4.2 RC's Soon ™. Please  note, Hentges 3.5.4.2 will be identical to Hentges 3.5.4.1 and only include updated packages.
