Bomberclone Download Help
« on: November 16, 2006, 05:38:55 pm »
I downloaded the .zip files of Bomberclone from the new packages thread, but I can't open them. It appears that they aren't normal .zip files. How do I open them? I have my Z, Ubuntu, and Windows XP available, by the way.

Thanks, and sorry if this is really obvious!

The first zip file is corrupt.
I used firefox 2.0
then I used flashget.
both times the bomberclone1.zip were corrupt.
bomberclone2.zip file is OK, but still needs the first file (bomberclone1.zip)

Oh, very sorry for the file corruption.
I have just uploaded new rar archives which come in two parts.
Enjoy!

I'm still having trouble getting the files. When I extract them in Ubuntu with unrar-free, I just get an empty folder. What program/command should I be using?

Thanks!

Sorry for the trouble. You know I must split the file coz each post has a 5MB upload limit. I use Mac and the archives will expand and merge automatically when extracting the 1st file. I don't have an account yet for the contrib feeds. If I can get one then I can just upload it directly there.
But then again, who is in charge of this?

An alternative is I do it with WinRAR in Windows in my office next Monday and upload the files again.

Could you just upload a .tar.gz file or a new .zip file? It seems that this would be easier. You could tar/gzip it on your Z if you can't on a desktop.

One problem is I know of no good solution to do compression into split archives on Mac (or Linux?). I did use Zip It! (already arcane ver and no update for years) to compressed the package in the beginning but the zip file was reported to be corrupted...
Another problem is the package is already compressed. Further compression makes no difference. Unless I split up the data (sound, images, etc) into difference packages, which is unconventional and may even bring up more confusion...

I now have it installed, but it complains about an undefined symbol with libsmpeg. I have tried this this library form a couple of places with the same result. Where did you get the version that you are using?

Thanks!
