I tried what tamarian suggested but it wouldn\'t work for me.  I have a SanDisk wireless card.  When I make the change tamarian suggested my card isn\'t recognized at all, so I can\'t even connect to a regular network.  Is it possible that some cards simply can\'t use the orinoco drivers which the kernel requires with the hermes.conf file?  If that is likey the problem let me know and I\'ll go out and buy another card.  Thanks.

Doesn\'t appear to do that for me. Do you have the Music Player set as Fast Load?

If your card is not recognised then you need to add it to /etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf (if using hostap drivers) or hermes.conf (if using orinico drivers) and then restart pcmcia (/etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia restart)

If you use orinico drivers, make sure to follow instruction supper in this thread.
If you use hostap this is handled by the install script.

First double or even tripple check that you did not make a typo when adding card entry to the config file.
Then after you inserted the card do a lsmod command from console and see if it displays hermes, orinoco and orinico_cs modules loaded.
Then see if you have eth0 interface by typing iwconfig.

Also look for eny suspision error messages in dmesg command output.

At this point you should be able to make regular network connections.

And yes, it is possible that some cards are not supported by orinico drivers, but I cannot tell which ones.

And finally try doing the same with hostap drivers - add the entry into hostap_csconf file.

I installed the new ROM and I have a small problem with the size of the type face displayed in the Konsole program.  I clicked on the magnifying glass in the Konsole (running as root) and somehow got the type size increased to 36 (big!).  Now it won\'t let me change the type size to anything else in the Konsole program.  Whenever I click on any other type size the program just closes and kicks me out of Konsole.  Other than that Konsole seems to work fine.  How can I change the Konsole type size back to something smaller?  Is there some file where this setting is stored that I can manually edit?  Thanks.

I forget if I clicked and held down... or clicked twice.... or kept clicking (past 72?) and it went back to microscopic.

also, qt --] zoom out.... it works!

I can\'t get the type size to change in Konsole following ScottYelich\'s suggestions.  It just seems stuck at 36 and whenever I try to change it I get kicked out of Konsole.  Isn\'t there somewhere this setting is stored so that I could manually edit it?  Thanks.

Hardware zoom buttons won\'t work for me in Konsole.  They work everywhere else, however.  Konsole is jus plain stuck with a 36 pt character set.  That setting must be saved in some file so I can manually edit it.

I am still trying to get Wellenreiter working with the new Cacko 1.20 ROM.  I got some new ipk files via javab0y, but they don\'t seem to work.  I am using the Ambicon CF1100 card.  I can get the card to work with the wlan-ng prisim drivers and, by doing the file switching technique outlined above, they will also work with the hermes file and the orinoco drivers.  Wellenreiter says my card isn\'t configured correctly no matter which set I use.  Both sets work for regular connections and kismet.  I tired the host-ap drivers but my Ambicon card won\'t work for any connection with host-ap.  Does some script need to be run to activate host-ap.  Any ideas on how to get Wellenreiter working would be appreciated.  I heard a new distribution compiled for the Cacko ROM should be out in a few days--is that true?

A very stupid question:
I installed the intermediate built of 1.20 ROM (It\'s very nice!!!) and I wrote some contacts, TODO and appointments in PIM applications. Now I would install the official release. Can I do a backup, install the definitive built and restore my datas without problems or  can I copy in the SD the files made by the PIM applications  and then restore them?
In the last case, what and where  these files are?
Thanks for helping a *REALLY* newbie!
M.

I\'m here again...
I use a BT CF by DAIKOM (detected as CSR Bluecore 2 UART adapter) and I set a GPRS connection via my Siemens S55 for dial-up using Setting/network. It seems that it\'s all Ok. The applet says \"connected\" and pressing \"i\" button it gives right connection params (DNS, GW etc...), but if I try to use mail or browser (Opera or NF), I can\'t access to internet. NF, for example, says \"TCP write error\". Anyone can help me?
Thanks again, M.
