Cacko 1438050304 Application Aesthetics
« on: March 06, 2004, 01:01:49 pm »
I am not sure if this is popular opinion, but I would actually like to use my c860 as a PDA too.  I have been using Cacko for about a month now and find the displayed output of Calendar, Todo, and Contacts somewhat displeasing.  E.g. “Description:” is too long in the view screen of any appointment running in to the actual text.

Have others noticed this?  Is their a way to fix it?

I used a hex editor to change Description: to Desc: and put datebook.so in /usr/lib and reran ldconfig, and even rebooted.  No luck my datebook.so was not used.  Any other ideas?  Is there an FAQ on ROM editing?

i use qualendar for calendar and todo and find it really good, it will probably improve with time too, loads of people prefer Kopi/Korganiser but it wasn\'t quite snappy enough for me, i prefer qualendar (and would like to take this opportunity to thank its author - if he ever reads this :-)) its free also...

For addresses I have tkcaddressbook (leftover from my 5500 tkcBundle) which runs fine as the addressbook, i like it more than the others (esp. as it uses the old XML format) even though I wouldnt buy any more software from them since they wont upgrade my 5500 versions to the 7x0 version. I find that only tkcAddressBook and tkcJabber were worth the money, explorer was great until Tree!ExplorerQt and most of the rest of the software i bought is redundant on the the ROMs. tkcAddressbook could also be better, but i wont hold my breath.

[a href=\"https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=11399]Yep[/url].  If you turn off quickexec, pad with nulls, and put it back where you found it (/home/QtPalmtop/binlib/) it should be fine.  Worked for me...
