New Cacko ROM and keyhelper
« on: March 06, 2004, 07:19:31 pm »
I installed the new ROM last night (its great!) and I noticed that it had some keys already mapped (ctrl, alt, swapped / and ,).  Is there some configuration file that allows me to set my own keymapping?  Or should I continue to use keyhelper?  I noticed that after I installed keyhelper, but before I did the khctl reload it appeared that some of the ROM mappings disappeared.

Ctrl and Alt keys are assigned in kernel. Other keys can be remapped by editing config file corresponding to the language you use. The file are located in this folder: /home/zaurus/Applications/cyrillica/

Is there anyway to override the kernel ctrl/alt key-mappings? I _want_ the Japanese keys.
I\'m guessing that Keymapper could do it, but I\'m not sure of the proper values.

Thanks.

I just switched to Cacko 1.21a, and I must say it\'s very nice. However, I ran into the above problem: I would like to assisgn the current \"ALT\" button to \"/\" and the current \"/\" button to \",\". Unfortunately, it looks like no-one replied to the ashikase, and I\'m hoping someone might know if overriding this default is possible or not..
The more pressing problem seems to be that I cannot detect the \"/\" or the \"?\" keys in keyhelperconf - it just will not register. Anyone know the keycode for the \"/\" key (or know why this is happening)?

Thanks,
Yz
