Relatively Cheap Usb Docking Station

I found this item listed on Geeks.com.  I'm wondering if something like this would be supported on the Z.  I believe I've usually seen similar USB docking stations listed for at least twice as much.

My gut feel is that the peripheral ports will need necessary drivers on Z to expose them for use. In this case, it could be tricky.

I think we need to find one that has opensource Linux drivers available.
The Zaurus's Non-high-speed USB port my cause problems too.

Hi guys,

I have a few of the IBM USB 1.0 (maybe 1.1?) dockign stations that I have had for a while...they are still in the box and all.  I bought a bunch a while abgo and just used one of them (I think I have 6 maybe, they are in the attic)....Anyway, they are bigger, about 8 inches tall and maybe 4 inches wide  (strike that, I just looked at a rular...they would be more like 6 inches tall and three inches wide) , they have a sort of curved front to access several USBs from the front (upstream is on the front too I believe) and they have serial and Parallel for sure on the back...it is a powered hub/dock with an AC Adpator (included).  

Anyway, I can find the exact model and post more detailed info....so if anyone in interested, please PM me (as I may not remember to check back on this thread).

Oh, as for the price, $15 plus shipping seems fair like a fair price considering they are IBM and all...  

Anyway, no biggie if no one cares or wants one, just throwing it out there.  Drivers would probably be an issue I would think, but no more so than any other dock...there is a driver CD for an older version of windows...not that that would help much, but at least it is a start.

Yeah, I was afraid that would be the opinion.  I was wondering if anyone had tried one of the docking stations with success.

As far as the USB speed, I don't believe that would be an issue unless it's actually too slow to operate, for example, a serial port at a specified high speed.  What is the speed of the USB port on the Z again?  Something like 1.5Mbps?  (I suppose I should actually look it up... I believe it's listed on the Wiki.)  I would think that would actually be fast enough, unless there are multiple devices eating up the bandwidth.

And Wikipedia states that USB 1.1 can operate at 1.5Mbps (Low Speed) or 12Mbps (Full Speed).

I know I've read the actual speed somewhere... probably a post in the forums.  I also noticed that C3200 General Info doesn't list a speed.  Can I assume it's the same as the C1000?
