Network Problem, Stopped Connecting
« on: June 11, 2007, 12:00:02 am »
My Zaurus recently stopped connecting to the internet.  I have no idea why, I haven't installed any new programs in a long time.  I use figlabs bluetooth tools to connect through my phone as well as my wireless cf card for wifi but neither work any more.  The wifi card will appear to connect to my wireless ap but after a few seconds it will disconnect.  The bluetooth will do the same, it will connect to my phone and on the zaurus it will say checking connection a few times but then disconnect me.  I never get internet access on my zaurus at all while it is doing this.

I figured out something with the bluetooth though.  If I tell it to connect and while it is doing that I keep overwriting the /etc/resolv.conf with one that has a dns server that I know works like 4.2.2.1 the bluetooth connection will succeed and I will have internet access.  So to me it seems that there is something wrong with the dns being set on the zaurus.  I haven't tried the same thing with the wifi yet but may not be able to because the zaurus is pretty much "frozen" while it is trying to connect through wifi.

Has anyone ever had an issue like this?  I am thinking maybe something is messed up in a script that the zaurus uses when it connects to the internet but I have no idea how the zaurus does it.

Can anyone offer any help?
