Looks good, very good.  How is Angstrom's responsiveness on your C1000 (I assume that's what the pics are from by your sig)?  Can you compare this build of Angstrom to Cacko?

Angstrom is actually pretty fast (it seems much faster and more stable than previous versions of OZ).  I've found nothing that compares to the speed and stability of Cacko.  The only thing keeping me away from Cacko is the old technology and lack of development/interest.

All of the ones I've tried work well, but I've only messed with about half of them.  If you have interest in a specific one(s) I can try it and get back to you.

USB config, ie gadget mode. Can the Z be detected and mounted as a USB Storage device by windows and can rndis mode be enabled to give tcp/ip over usb. This wasn't working under OZ before, I wonder whether it works in Angstrom yet.

The other is the look and feel. Can you change the theme without breaking the apps, in particular abiword.

thanks

USB Config - the Z acting as a storage device works perfectly.  I haven't tried USB networking or Serial.  My guess is that they work as well.

Look and Feel seems to work fine.  I haven't noticed any issues with Abiword.  I'd like to see more themes available.  It's probably trivial to port GTK themes over to GPE/Matchbox, but I haven't looked into that yet.

Well, no, they don't all work.  Let's see, the package manager didn't work for me (but it's just a matter of using ipkg from a shell, no big problem).  With my latest update, the screen setup is a mess.  Some I haven't tried.  The network setup works, though I have to re-do it after each suspend.  The control panel (on the "other" tab, but...) doesn't seem to work at all.  But most of the other ones do work.

I just tried re-mapping some of the "special" keys on the bottom row of my borzoi's keyboard using the keys and buttons applet, and it worked fine.  Before I had edit the config file (but that got overwritten on the upgrade).

I donno about the usb stuff.  I have tried setting up usb networking, but didn't get it going so dropped it.  Fortunately I don't have a windows machine to test out mounting the z as a usb storage device under it.

You can change themes, but that doesn't change much.  I want to make more serious changes to the tabs, etc., but have yet to find out how that might be done.

That is a big deal for me.  Yes, it has lyx (1.4.1, a bit long in the tooth), but it does not yet have tex available, so the usability is restricted to depending on another machine to process the files.  Some day I may try to get TeX working, but that will be nontrivial for me.

thanks. but the usb tcp/ip is the one I am interested in since it was not working before (it sorta worked if you connected to a linux box, but not if you connected to a windows box)

well, if you can change themes without breaking apps, that's good , but it seems like the Package manager is still broken
