GPS for 5600
« on: October 11, 2003, 10:36:40 am »
i\'m trying to determine what would be a decent GPS to use for wardriving with my 5600.  the lower the price, the better

i\'ve done some reading on a Radio Shack Digitraveler GPS mouse that looks like it\'ll work fine with the appropriate adapter.  has anybody had any experience with this or any others on the Zaurus?  and advice will be greatly appreciated...

edit: i\'d like it to leave my CF slot open, as i do need it for my 802.11b card

The Screen Savers had a whole segment on Wardriving with a 5600 and they used a Socket Low Power WLAN card with Kismet.  See the whole story: http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/story/0...3528416,00.html

yes, thanks... as it turns out, that episode of the screensavers was how i even found out about the 5600.  a week and a half later of research on the device, and i was a proud owner of one.  unfortunately, they never mention GPS devices to work with Kismet as far as mapping AP\'s goes.

i ended up getting a linksys 802.11b CF card for mine, though, as it happened to be drastically reduced with instant rebates and the like.  i have an inverter in my car, so having a low power wLAN card like the one he mentioned wasn\'t really a concern.

well... the search continues... what GPS to use along with my CF card?
