Backlight Bug

It seems to be a common bug, but is there a patch or something?

The Symptoms:
When the ON button is pushed to wake it up, the screens goes on for maybe a second, then goes black. It has happend on other occasions, but it seems to be the same bug.
- I'm sure now that the screen is actually on only the backlight is not. Pressing FN+4 and FN+3 seems to help after a while but I'm waiting for the bug to happen again in order to test it more "consciously".
- it might depend on the OS, I've only experienced it with Cacko 1.23 and after some time of using it but that might just be coincidence

I'm running cacko 1.23 on my c860 with the same problems.....my solution was to change the brightness level up one (as I had it on the lowest)...However, a more permanent solution would be a patch (anyone?)....Hope it helps Tombo
