Wanted: Zaurus 5500 AC connector
« on: March 15, 2004, 12:17:10 pm »
The story goes like this, went to University (studying Aerospace Eng...yes i know i am a geek :? ) earlier this week, to try out the wellenriter program on my new 5500. Seeing how the wifi card drains the battery i decided to take the AC adapt, bad move. Everything thing was going well, i even managed to get the zaurus charged during my lecture. However i did not remeber to take out the charger when the lecture was over, realising what had happened i rushed back to the room, only to find it was gone. I am hoping someone with give it in the Lost & found but i doubt it....anyways if any of you got a ac cable i will buy it of ya.

I hope you get yours back but...
You can an equivalent from RadioShack (and elsewhere, I\'m sure).  You want a 5V, 2-2.5 amp adapter (with the right DC tip).  I bought one at RS for about $12-15 (I don\'t remember) so I could have one at work and one at home).

Look on eBay - just go to eBay, type \"zaurus\" in the search, and look for AC adapters.  I got a car adapter there for $7 that works great.

The AC adapters for the Dell Axim X5 also work.  That\'s what I had before I got the Z.

The iPAQ ac chargers work also.  The one I got with my 2210 stays at work and the Sharp stays at home.  Both have the exact same specs and tips.  The iPAQ uses an adaptor, the Z plugs straight into both ac chargers.

Bye the way, if you get the iPAQ charger, I\'ll buy the iPAQ adaptor from you to help offset the cost.
