Emergency System Does Not Detect Sd Card
« on: December 18, 2008, 02:03:22 am »
Dear Friends,

I tried to upgrade my PdaXrom in my SL 7500 C but i have some problems.

Emergency system is running, but I can't continue in upgrade process, I guess that emergency system does not detect my SD card. (512 MB)
Can anybody help me to solve this? I am not much experienced with Linux this time.

Thanks in advance

Peter

Are you upgrading a "working" pdaxrom setup, or are you flashing a completely new one?
You may need to try another card, sometimes SD cards can have problems unrelated to the flash process.
If you are starting from "another" distro, (or this is a "new" flash), read below:
Make sure that you the SD card is formatted to FAT 16 (I always flashed using a CF card, and it is always recommended to have the card formatted as FAT 16)
Otherwise I cannot tell you much more, except to be sure you have selected the correct ROM (pdaxrom) image for your hardware.
And make sure that you follow the instructions for your pdaxrom version.
Make sure that the file names are correct according to the instructions that you are using. The files need to be in the root directory of the card.
Some files need to be renamed. Follow instructions carefully...

Thanks for reply.

One thing was happened, When I try to flash new bootloader for a first time, during flash process was interrupted power so I must delete NAND and repeat flashing again. What is interesting, normally when I begun to flash, Green LED has 1x Flashed a then light....  now, the LED diode only light without the "flash".

I try to format SD card carefully and it works fine.

All files are downloaded from pdaxrom.org

I follow the instruction, but I cant continue now, because the next step i unavailable

How can I check that SD card is mounted? I try to list CARD directory in /DEV but CARD directory is not presented.. Is there another way to check? Sorry for "stupid" questions, but i am not much skilled yet.

type "mount" to see if somethings mounted, or "df -k".

"fdisk -l" will list partitions across all devices.
