Hardly abandoned - we have Ubuntu 9.04 running on the Zaurus - thats razor sharp cutting edge !
Plenty of people and life left lurking here.

Thanks for reminding us about pandora - I'm sure there are plenty of us who have been watching that one for a LONNNNNGGG time ;-)
SL-C3000(Spitz) - pdaXii13 5.5alpha + sound enhanced kernel - MD in 1 great big partition -  Ambicom CF Wifi + USB Ethernet  and NOW Zubuntu on a 4Gb SD

The fact is that even if YOU DON'T READ this forum or YOU DON'T USE IT... it's not abandoned at all. Some of us have talked about openpandora here. Some of us are going to buy one when it`s available. We still have good ideas and, better, people who is kind enough to make them posible (like Zubuntu). Openpandora people are doing a very good job and have opened a way for lots of similar projects showing us that's posible to make a complete device that fits our needs (like pocket penguin was meant to be).

I didn't mean to insult the forum people, what i meant was the PocketPenguin part you guys should keep trowing in ideas in here for the perfect handheld.I think that Pandora is going to need some competition and there's better hardware released now than when Pandora was designed. There is another website looking into the possibility of making their own handheld and are looking for ideas.

Also they just came out today with the first fully working Pandora!!

trats20050, I think somebody must have been a bit grouchy today, I didn't read your initial post as being anything other than a comment on the dead pocketPenguin forum.  maybe you could edit the post to clarify it for anyone else coming along? I'm sure everyone will get along just fine and hopefully you're not upset by their overreaction, it's good to have a new member here with some fresh input!

yes, so many good ideas in this sub-forum, shame it died before so much as a prototype was born. I did wonder if the beagleboard was what a pp prototype would have been.
