Slc1000 As A Wireless Print Server
« on: June 02, 2009, 06:00:13 pm »
OK

My problem

My Printer is on one side of what used to be my office but now is a landing as we have extended the house.  As my phone and wireless router is stuck on the other side of the hall I've been looking at setting the printer up using wireless but then I thought hm I have a C1000 that isnt getting much use at the moment and my printer is USB

So the question is will the Z be able to be setup as a print server connecting to my WIFI router and the printer over USB?

I would not need to print from the Z just pass the printstream on to the USB from a static IP address

Any pointers ROM version / Packages / configs welcome

Cheers
Craig

I think your best bet is probably to use ZUbuntu (as everything you need works "out of the box," AFAIK). After you get that running, it should just be a matter of finding out how to configure CUPS. I can't help you with that, unfortunately.
SL-C750- pdaXrom beta 1 (mostly unused)
Current distro: Gentoo
