TKC ROM v2?
« on: March 23, 2004, 11:48:20 am »
Hello all,

Is there any word on when we can expect to see TKC ROM v2 for the sl5500 in a stage which is beyond alpha? Is the alpha version stable enough for day to day use?

Thanks
Allan

Almost 300 views and no one knows ?!?!?!?

I\'m guessing that progress have been slow (or stopped then)... :-(

Can anyone say how stable the alpha version is?

I guess everyone is awaiting for the same answer. I remember seeing a number of posts back in January that seemed to indicate it was coming soon. But nothing since then.

I\'m still running TKC 1.0 on my 5500, has been rock solid for the eight of ten months I\'ve had it.

I have given up hope for the version 2 final to ever come out. Have been using tkcROMalpha on my 5000D, and while its been generally stable, one in a while it will freeze up requiring me to reset the whole thing. Luckily since I use the /home on SD feature, my data remains intact on the SD card, and maybe that is the only reason I have still stuck with the alpha version on my 5000D (since moved to Cacko ROM on my C750). Otherwise if I was losing data and had to reintsall apps on every freeze-up I would say dont use it.

But seriously theres been not a word out from tkc or Proto about when we can expect the final version. After all, an alpha is an alpha, not a finished product.
Shawn (from tkc) had at one point mentioned about proto working on the touch-ups to the graphics before releasing the final version. That was a few months back. Whats up now ???

When Shawn says soon he really means in about 6 months if not never. I\'ve been using v2 alpha3 for a while and it has been generally stable. However, for the life of me I have been unable to get Wellenreiter working on it.

Since I\'ve ditched most of the tkc products for other replacements, I was thinking of switching ROMs yet again. Are there any I should be looking at?
