need help: keyz
« on: March 26, 2004, 11:25:05 am »
I have googled a little and found keyz resp. keyz-zkb to correctly map the German keyboard on a Zaurus 5500G.

What I could not find is any documentation or list of ROMs it is working
with. Any pointers/links?

Many thanks,
hns

need help: keyz

Dear all,
after trying a while with keyz-zkb only, I have now installed both: keyz-zkb-0.7.1 and keyz-0.5.6, because the zkb does not come with the de.xml mapping.

But it still does not work. In keyz configurator I can select additional mappings. I can type labels (although the Set Label button has no visible effect). And a new EN symbol appears in the status bar.

But:
a) when I close and reopen keyz configurator the changes are lost - by checking \"run as root\" I could fix this
besides EN, I get a smal circle to select in the status bar with the keyz logo but it has a small red cross
c) rebooting does not change anything

Any ideas? Wrong version? Incompatibility to ROM 3.10?
