NEW: CACkO Zaurus Qtopia ROM 1.21 HotFix A

Hmm, the file should have the .ipk extension. The file name should be cacko-qtopia-rom-hotfix_1.21a_arm.ipk Try downloading again, make sure the file is complete and has the ipk extension. You can go to the file /home/root/usr/lib/ipkg/status and delete the reference to the miss-named ipk. That should do the trick.
Good luck,
Jerry

I installed the patch ip linked to and ipkg returned the descriptive \"somthing went wrong, sorry\" error, so I exited and went to install via the console.  well qkonsole wouldent start so I reset my device (c860) an dit wont boot.  any idea what went wrong?  I\'m going to try and reflash to fix it.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

I\'m very sure that I tried to download the file and try it at least twice but I tried it again and this time it has worked!

I checked the status file with VI and it appear to be empty....

Now that the hotfix is installed I seem to be able to install other ipk\'s as well - thanks very much you have made my day.

I will try and think a bit harder next time.

you need to edit the ipkg-status file...
there will be an ipk at the end that will cause the \"__\" symptom.
all is not lost -- when you remove that broken entry -- ipkg will work again.
I\'d be more specific, but my Z is not in front of me now.

- Fixed missing \'?\' in english keyboard layouts

When using the Zaurus with VNC, the \",\" and \"/\" keys on my PC keyboard are swapped. Also the \"?\" doesn\'t work (but it does work on the Z\'s keyboard....)

I just upgraded to the latest Cacko Rom 1.21 Hotfix A.

Prior to that I was using a LinkSys WCF12 WiFi card and my CF2031 Sprint PC modem.  Both of them were working fine on my new C860 from Dynamism.

After the upgrade, I setup my network settings and it seems the WCF12 isn\'t even recognized.  It just sits their with the light on the Card on, but the Connect option on the Network application is always disabled, even when selecting the Connection to use.

With respect to my CF2031 Sprint Card, that worked fine also ad a Dial-up PPP.  Now however when I connect with it I just get a message dialog with \"CF card type seiral device is busy.\" in it.  Another difference is on this new Network application it forces me to put in my username and password.  In the old application it allowed me to use the user/pw programmed into the CF2031 card itself.

Any help before I have to move back to the Dynamism flash would be appreciated.

I sure like everything about this Cacko but it\'s a requirement for me to have my Wifi and Cell Modem working.

I\'m a Linux newbie, so please go easy on me.

Thanks,

Kevin

Your card works just fine on Cacko Rom. please, search forums on how to change configuration to make your card recognised.

Same for your Sprint Card - do a search on how to get rid of \"device busy\" message. This was discussed before.
