Bluetooth - practical experience

Hi all,

I want to buy a Bluetooth CF card and I would appreciate any practical knowledge about Bluetooth operation in general, as well as experiences with particular brands & types. Some of the questions I am interested in:

It varies from card to card, but I would say that from my experience it only shortens battery life by about 10%. You cannot manually control power consumption. I think Bluetooth cards can only be on, in standby, or off anyway. It\'s not like WiFi where you can have variable output power which gives different range since the speed is relatively slow (About the same as 512K DSL) and range short to begin with.

Up to 10m and in general it does go through walls. I can get a Bluetooth signal to go from one corner of my house downstairs to the opposite corner upstairs althought my house is fairly small.

Yes, the connection is rock solid.
