Glad to hear that, and luckily the upgrade perk's price has not been risen like the ones for a Gemini unit.

No, it did not, but I wonder if the higher order number 72xx range will set me back another month.

I kind of wish I'd bought two now, one wifi, one 4g, so I could use the 2nd for sailfish and other interesting distros we'll see come out.
Gemini 4G/Wi-Fi owner, formerly zaurus C3100 and 860 owner; also owner of an HTC Doubleshot, a Zaurus-like phone.

Hi Mark,

personally, my hopes are high for Sailfish OS 3.

https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news...sh-OS-3-In-2018
https://jolla.com/sailfish3/

"improved multi-tasking" ,  "built-in hardware keyboard support", "Full support for landscape UI"

Possibly more to come...

Hi Greg,

So, sounds like it's like a better version of Android, so to speak?

Don't mean this literally, but more like how it should have been like, perhaps....

Hi Mark,

it is hard to compare the two. For quite a while I use Sailfish OS on my main personal phone and found it very refreshing and less bloated than Android. Saying that, I was a Meego user on a Nokia N9 for many years. The Jolla team consists of some developers that left Nokia in 2011 or so. Overall my opinion may be a bit biased, but I think Sailfish OS is amazing, efficient and runs well. The swipe interface clever. You can run most (but not all) Android applications also under Sailfish via Alien Dalvik. However, I never really used that feature so I can not comment on how useful it is. I hope Jolla will have a continued success story and Sailfish OS will prevail as an alternative mobile OS on a market otherwise dominated by Google and Apple. It is not 100% opensource, same as Android, but their philosophy and technology a more appealing to me. It is closer to Linux than Android and more opensource friendly, also for developers.
