Multi-boot Linux/Android from USB?
« on: March 14, 2018, 03:51:26 pm »
I have a GPD Win that should be here in about a week and I was wondering if anyone had set up a USB drive with multiple OS options?  I have a couple of low profile flash drives that would seem to be perfect for this, as they would barely stick out in back.  Any links would be appreciated.  Also, do the distro links out there for the Pocket work on the Win?

I don't want to partition and install Linux or Android directly, as I will probably pass this device on to one of my kids once I get my Gemini in hand and set up to dual boot.

I have only found instructions on how to install Arch Linux on the internal storage, alongside Windows:

It seems that it should be possible to boot at least a single OS from an USB drive:

I believe not, I always see Linux for the Win and for the Pocket mentioned separately.

Thanks.  I'm actually rethinking the USB flash drive option, as I've seen in my reading that the drives can get really hot. It might be best to just plan on reinstalling Windows after any experimenting.

BTW, the GPD Win is on the delivery truck today!
