reboot on resume
« on: November 04, 2003, 05:17:41 pm »
I changed quite a few things all at once and surprise, I have a problem.

On receipt of my 5500 back from Sharp Repair ($98 to replace a $1.35 fuse) I stuck in a new 250MB Viking CF card and loaded a bunch of apps (tkc, opie, etc) on top of Sharp 3.10 ROM.

It works for a few hours or days after flashing the ROM (I\'m getting good at this) but then it wants to reboot whenever one presses the \"ON\" button. The error scrolls by pretty fast but says something to the effect of:

\"ext2fs_chk_if_mount no such file or directory while determining whether /dev/mtdblock1 is mounted.\"

Has anyone resolved this error?

Thanks!

Bill

That error is not significant.

Is your battery fully charged? Do you keep catching the battery cover switch? Maybe you have a dud battery or a lose connection somewhere.

Thanks for your help T!

It fails the same on AC and the batt is new and fully charged. dang peculiar. I\'d hate to think it was a HW error after all this.

I\'m going to ext2 after flashing to thekompany 2a ROM and will report back.

FOUND IT!

Installing qtopia-memoryapplet to the CF card causes a Z to reboot when it comes back from \"suspend\" mode.

Every dang time.

That didn\'t work for me, it\'s still rebooting.
