Although the update states that "About 1000 Gemini units were shipped out to backers in the past two weeks." please don't forget that they also shipped over 1000 units in the first 'batch' which (if my memory is correct!) they just managed to get out before the factory 'shut down' for the Chinese New Year!

I bought mine last week, order number 87xx, US wifi/4g. PC seems to be saying they'll be shipping to all backers soon, then have devices left over for stock.

Do I count as a backer, or just a customer, given that I ordered after the price rise, etc?

I wouldn't quite consider you a backer, but who knows. You bought this one week ago, we purchased the device almost a year ago.

>>I wouldn't quite consider you a backer<< That would be my thinking, but it's not clear from the indiegogo page/update.

If you are buying through Indiegogo then you are a backer and the device is a perk, that's the deal you have entered into. Indiegogo is not a retail site.
It's not a retail purchase as it would be from the Gemini store web page or from Clove.

That's what I would have thought as well.
You get it a bit cheaper but without the consumer protections as a payoff.

Better back than never, I guess.  Thanks for the deciphering.
