Smarter keyboard backlight
« on: February 03, 2020, 10:44:50 am »
Hi,

Is there a setting for this somewhere? I coudn't find one.

Essentially, there is already a sensor checking for ambient light and adjusting screen brightness accordingly.

Can this same sensor be tied to keyboard backlight?

I don't want or need keyboard backlight during daylight hours, but when it gets dark I'd like the keyboard to light up.

Failing that, I'd like the keyboard to light up if I start typing on it and shut itself off after a short timeout (like 10 seconds). This way I can see what I'm typing, but the keyboard does not draw attention when I'm e.g. watching a  video or navigating a website by touching the links.

At this point no, but maybe we can hope little bit of improvement with keyboard backlight.

looks like ambient light sensor is placed between 2nd display and camera and seems to be little bit tricky for display at this point.
